I can be wrong. Can you be wrong? Blood on our hands!
(I can’t dance, sing, cook, or teach grammar, but I can talk about surveillance)
I just caught two mistakes I made in the previous article for the Constitutional Alliance. I said 250 ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz each day. It was a hairbrain mistake, but I was wrong. The correct number is roughly 125 ships a day. It does not matter why I made the mistake the point is I was wrong. Also, at the end of the previous article, ‘Not paying attention will cost us all’, I said the Department of Justice ‘Model 2026’ would amount to giving federal law enforcement unfettered access to state law enforcement and intelligence databases. I should have said ‘Model 2026’ would amount to giving federal law enforcement indirect unfettered access to state law enforcement and intelligence databases. Stay with me and find out why many will have blood on their hands and if you will be one of them!
we cannot admit we are wrong about something
The point is when we cannot admit we are wrong about something that is not only wrong, but also dangerous. Anyone who tells you we know people are who they say they are and know the individual’s citizenship when the individual is provided with a Real ID compliant drivers’ license is wrong. Will your state legislators or members of congress admit we do not know if people are who they say they are when issuing a Real ID complaint drivers’ license? No, they will not. My solution would make sure we know people are who they say they are.
It is NOT only an entitlement, economic, or immigration issue
It is not only an entitlement issue, or a larger economic issue, an immigration issue, but knowing people are who they say they are is a national security issue. I am not going to cover the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993, or 9/11/2001. In 1993 and 2001 our economy was much stronger than it is today, and our national debt was about five trillion versus the nearly forty trillion dollars it is today. Given our situation today with Iran, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Hammas it is far more likely that we will be attacked today on our soil than it was just a year ago. Who’s going to have blood on their hands?
20 years of indifference
Every year, going back almost twenty years, I would ask state legislators in different states around the country to ask state officials who oversaw the issuance of drivers’ licenses how they know if a person is who they say they are. Each year the answer would vary from state to state, but the reality was not one state could say that they knew each person who the state issued a Real ID complaint drivers’ license was who the person said they were. Thank God, one U.S. senator and his chief of staff did listen to me and opened many doors for me. They trusted in me enough to hire multiple people I recommended. The kicker is they asked me to recommend people. A couple of the people went on to work for senate committees and eventually the first President Trump administration.
Crazy sounding but documented TRUE
I know what I say sounds crazy, but that is what people told me about the parent company of a U.S. subsidiary using a Russian algorithm for fingerprinting. I worked with a Pulitzer Prize awarded journalist to bring people from Russia to testify under oath about what I asserted. I was proven one hundred percent right. I was also told I was crazy for saying the ACLJ and the ACLU would appear together and oppose the same legislation. They both came to the National Press Club for an event sponsored by the Constitutional Alliance and opposed the Real ID Act 2005. I was also told I was crazy for saying the largest biometric company in the United States twenty-five years ago was ‘rigging’ test results for facial recognition. I was proven right by the words of senior people who worked at the company.
The Iran War
I have previously commented about my position on the war with Iran. Basically, my feelings are that if we go to war, we must be ready to put troops on the ground, otherwise empty threats cause loss of lives, tens of billions of dollars wasted, and inflation. I am not a war hawk, but I am pragmatic. How many people criticized former President Obama for drawing a line in the sand about Syria and then failing to act when the line was crossed? I do not fault President Trump for going to war, however I believe in being prepared when you threaten to wipe a country off the map.
Federal Judge rules on the SAVE Act
Some will say I saved the best for last, but I would say I saved the worst for last. What I mean is the public has been told the way states and the federal government know people are who they say they are not only is far from perfect, but it has also been ruled by a D.C. federal judge last week to be so bad the procedure cannot be used. I am talking about SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements), a querying program administered under the DHS (Department of Homeland Security). For those who want to blame President Trump, or newly appointed DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin stop before you say a word.
My 20 year devotion to the issue of ensuring people are who they say they are
The issue of making sure people are who they say they are is an issue I have devoted over twenty years to. I worked with an individual for multiple years who actually was at the time the leading expert in our country on identity. I asked this person to testify under oath. He came forward and testified, and said my solution would work and further, biometrics were not needed. Did I mention my solution would only cost taxpayers less than fifty million dollars? Not the tens of billions Real ID has already cost.
One could hear crickets chirp
Nobody listened when I said the Real ID Act 2005 was about biometrics and had more loopholes than Swiss cheese has holes. Suffice to say, thousands of supposed Real ID compliant drivers’ licenses were issued to people in our country illegally. I am not going to discuss how such a thing could happen; for that you will have to buy the book I am writing.
Great news
For those that would like some excellent news, the Supreme Court of the United States made one of the most important decision of our lifetime by ruling we do have digital rights that protect the 4th Amendment to our Constitution.
Are you in?
Now you can go back to your regularly scheduled program or whatever it is you will do so that you do not have to think about what you have just read. With knowledge comes responsibility. Are you going to try and conveniently forget what you have already read? When, not if, we are attacked again on our soil and fraudulently obtained authentic Real ID licenses helped to facilitate the attack, those who decide to do nothing will have blood on their hands.
Numerous times I have said as the Co-Founder of the Constitutional Alliance, we support the brave men and women in law enforcement. They make over twenty million traffic stops a year. Too often the media portrays these people as power hungry. The people in law enforcement protect us all. They do not care about the color of your skin, your ethnicity, your religion, or your gender; they will all help to keep us safe this 4th of July, the 250th anniversary of our country. God bless them and God bless you.
What can you do?
Speaking of you, now contact your state legislators and congressional delegation and tell them you want them to follow the law, and verify breeder documents, the foundational documents that prove identity and citizenship, before a Real ID drivers’ license is issued. It is the law!
