Kentucky Secretary of State nominee Steve Knipper receives Badge of Honor Award
ANKENY, IOWA – Steve Knipper, a candidate for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Secretary of State office, is awarded the Constitutional Alliance’s coveted Badge of Honor award. The Constitutional Alliance is a national organization comprised of state legislators, state and national groups, ministries, and private citizens. During the last sixteen years, the Constitutional Alliance has only awarded the Badge of Honor eight times.
There are several reasons Steve Knipper is being awarded the Badge of Honor. His previous public service to the Commonwealth as Chief of Staff for Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton, and his personal commitment to his family that includes adopting children, speak to his experience and moral character.
In these times, election integrity has become a very important issue. Steve Knipper traveled to meet with the Constitutional Alliance. During our visit, Steve explained he wants the people of Kentucky to know their elections will be fair and without bias. Of all the people we met with who are seeking office, Republican, Democrat, and Independent, nobody understood the importance of verifying the authenticity of birth certificates more than Steve Knipper. Federal law requires acceptable documents submitted to acquire a drivers’ license must include the individual’s date of birth, place of birth, and full legal name. The same law, Public Law 109-13 (The Real ID Act 2005) requires the verifying of birth certificates if the birth certificate is the document presented by individuals to obtain a drivers’ license. The majority of people submit a birth certificate. Steve Knipper knows what must be done to verify the authenticity of birth certificates, and is committed to making sure it is done in Kentucky.
Steve Knipper’s commitment to fair and unbiased election integrity and knowledge of all election issues, along with his history of public service and moral character is why Steve Knipper has earned the Constitutional Alliance’s Badge of Honor.
