Remembering Dad on this Fathers Day

My dad is a true outdoors-man. My brother and I would often journey with dad into the waterways, woods, and farmlands of Iowa. Here, dad would teach us how to live off the land. From fishing to hunting to even trapping we learned to appreciate the value of our surroundings and how best to survive with little more than our wits and knowledge. A lovable man who, as a salesman, was much like a magnet to metal. He could then, and still to this day, draw complete strangers into his circle of larger family merely by smiling and introducing himself.

Dad is a man who grew up in a different time living a free self driven lifestyle. Oh what a wondrous example of a man living the true US Citizenship lifestyle that our founding fathers endowed to us all. At 90 years of age, dad continues to live free and without falling to the ills of my generation. He has been a willing companion allowing a smile of approval to pass his lips as he journeyed with me to speaking engagements. His advice and life experiences have kept me grounded and provided great insight into what real freedom is all about.

Dad approves of my stance on the growing surveillance state. We both wrestle with the sickening ideologies of those power hungry government employees, elected or not, who deeply believe it is for the better good that government control the people. These misled few are mistakenly taken up into this Orwellian dream that they somehow know what’s best for everyone else. Often hypocrites, they won’t even follow the advice they toss out at us. These power seeking few are, today, using the massive monies of the people to silently build a massive system of control over all peoples worldwide. Through social engineering these few have conditioned us to feel bad if we don’t possess a smart phone, approve of surveillance of the rift raft among us, and made many believe that if they’ve done nothing wrong then there should be nothing for them to fear.

Subsequent to my decades of developing computing technologies for a number of the world’s largest multi-national global conglomerates, teaching the same at several colleges, speaking before global thought leaders about technology, and my lengthy involvement in inhibiting the use of bio-metrics, one finds himself living the days of the ushering in of the government run surveillance state.

Bio-metrics is, after all, the linchpin to a surveillance state. A surveillance state means that not only will the rift raft among us be surveilled, but you will be surveilled. Why? Because nobody has a database of only bad guys, for some reason they simply won’t come in for their photograph sitting.

Thank you dad for helping to shape me into the man I am today. Free, in control, and able to think and make decisions for myself. My wish is that my sons will in like fashion be allowed to live a free non-Orwellian lifestyle, surveillance free, and with room for individual free thought.

If you too believe government should have limited control over your freedom then here is a nice read: Another Facial Recognition Firm sees Money in Biometric Mining.
