National Press Club Followup

by Mark Lerner (November 18 , 2008)      Constitutional Alliance      Stop Real ID Coalition

The last two weeks have been very hectic and exciting.  We sponsored an event at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. on October 29, 2008.  Among the participants were the ACLJ and the ACLU.  State lawmakers, EPIC, additional national groups and state groups attended the conference.  All spoke out against the Real ID Act and other issues that involve the collecting and sharing of American’s personal information including sharing with foreign governments.  Another topic of discussion was Tenth Amendment legislation protecting states from unconstitutional mandates of the federal government.  Over the next ten days we will have video clips of the event edited down to 15 minutes on YouTube and Constitutional Alliance members web-sites.  Some would say just bringing the ACLU and the ACLJ together to speak with one united voice is an accomplishment of historic precedent.

Currently we are on 12 state tour meeting with private citizens, groups and lawmakers in a the states we are going to.  In each state as well as others we have already visited, we have offered legislation that covers the issues raised in the first paragraph of this update.  This legislation is in the process of being filed in many states across the country.  We have offered an alternative solution to the Real ID Act that does not include the collecting of citizen’s biometric samples, social security numbers and other highly personal information.  States will get back control of state documents such as driver’s licenses.  Your personal information contained in state Department of Motor Vehicle databases will not be shared with Canada, Mexico and other foreign governments.  Our solution does call for the creation of a more secure state driver’s license, one with document integrity as well as for breeder document verification.

Our national support is growing everyday.  Once legislatures in states go back in session we will be providing testimony to insure passage of the model legislation we have created.

We are sending a very strong message to those in Washington D.C. that states and their citizens will not be abused by zealous national lawmakers that are not concerned with state’s rights, privacy, religious freedom and a citizens right to representation.  The days of international organizations and multi-national corporations having more influence on Senators and Congressmen then citizens are over.  The power is this country belongs to the people and states.  By insuring the power is returned to states and citizens we can insure U.S. sovereignty will be preserved.

Many have asked what they can do.  They can work with state lawmakers in their states to ensure the legislation we have created is filed, introduced, passed and signed into law.  We have a donate button on our web-site.  Freedom is not free and the work we do for all citizens is not inexpensive.  We need the financial help of citizens to continue to add to our already proven track record of success.  If you prefer not to donate online you can contact us at stoprealid@aol.com If a person has more financial resources than most and wants to meet with us personally, we will come to you.

If you would like us to come to your state and we have not been there previously before then please contact at stoprealid@aol.com We can discus scheduling and other details.

We are a national organization that includes lawmakers and groups that represent American citizens all across the country.  We are non partisan and not interested in name calling.or blame.  We are only concerned about restoring our Constitution and not revising it because of the whims of those that have caved in to international organizations and multi-national corporations.

Very soon we will be identifying those state lawmakers and others that have patronized us or just ignored us and thus you the people.  We will ask that these lawmakers not be reelected and they be seen for what they are, complicit in protecting corporations and international organizations rather than their constituents.  Whether these lawmakers are Republicans or Democrats at the state or national level their names will be provided.  We will be working with groups in specific states to insure these lawmakers are not elected.
The list will be published in many organization newsletters and on web-sites that belong to Constitutional Alliance members. that have the ability to reach 20-30 million Americans.  It is also significant to note that we have the support of many ministries representing many denominations.

We ask that each visitor to our web-site download our “Action Packet” and study it.  An informed citizen is a citizen that can and will make a difference.

Thank you from all of us to all of you.  We eagerly look forward to hearing from you.

Mark
