I [Mark Lerner] have been busy responding to emails and posts on social networking platforms. Some of this email I have sent privately to a few people. Today, I realized an urgent need to send this email to everyone and have it posted on the Constitutional Alliance website. Hopefully and prayerfully this email finds everyone doing well. Health is the one area where we must rely on Our Lord. I know from experience that the blessing of having good doctors who are all solid Believers is why I am able to do what I am doing. You are each in my daily prayers. This economy is hard on everyone. I will be addressing the economy, the war with Iran, and very recent developments with the surveillance state. We need to put our partisan hats to the side and think about the future of our country, if not for ourselves then for our children.
Between moving, writing an outline for the book I am writing, keeping up with all things political, reading everything I can find each day on the surveillance state, answering emails, writing articles for the Constitutional Alliance, building bridges with different groups of people, and making sure I get at least thirty minutes a day of good exercise I am exhausted. I have been up until 3 AM each morning. I take nothing for granted. I thank God each morning when I wake up. We are not assured when we go to sleep that there will be another day in our future.
On one hand, I am pleased with the response to my previous email and article. Sadly, what I did state in my previous email as Trump's only options with Iran turned out to be correct. I have read the Memorandum of Understanding President Trump (will actually be VP Vance signing) has agreed to sign with Iran. Obama gave the Iranians a lot of money. This deal now is exponentially worse with the Iranians able to receive much more money. There is no way to spin the numbers. The Iranians can get up to $300 billion without agreeing formally to end their ICBM program, stop funding Hezbollah, and having on site verification anytime - anywhere in Iran. Basically, we are agreeing to cut and run without even getting our citizens back being illegally held by Iran. I know for a fact the Director of the CIA, Rubio, Hegseth, and Vance, all strongly opposed the Memorandum of Understanding.
President Trump said the American people are tired of the war. Trump is not wrong, but he is going to look much worse in sixty days when the Iranians backtrack on all of the key points. Netanyahu would be doing President Trump a favor by continuing to go after Hezbollah in Lebanon, thus from the Iranian's perspective, violating the Memorandum of Understanding. I do not know what world Trump is living in if he believes Hezbollah is going to stop attacking Israel, or Israel will not respond with great force.
This week Trump said he wanted to renegotiate the deal he made with Mexico and Canada (USMCA). Magically yesterday, Canadian Prime Minister Carney said he read the Memorandum of Understanding we are making with Iran. Carney said Trump made a great deal. The Europeans and the Canadians have done next to nothing to help us in our war with Iran. Of course, Carney would say the deal is a great deal knowing Trump is holding the current trade deal with Canada over his head. All Canada and Europe care about is ending the war. I am praying we do not take any military action against Cuba before the mid-term elections. Our failure to deal with Iran is bad enough.
As I said in my previous email, I am not a war hawk, but in the case of Iran I believe we should not have started what we were not prepared to finish. The Iranian regime is going to rake in as much money as they can and then tell us goodbye. We have depleted roughly 75% of our oil reserve. Estimates on what the war has cost will depend on who is giving the estimate. One hundred billion dollars is not out of the question. We have depleted much of our own military hardware. When former President Biden withdrew from Afghanistan, we left about $7 billion in equipment for the Taliban. We lost thirteen soldiers and several were wounded during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. We have already lost thirteen of our bravest men and women in this war with Iran. Well over four hundred have been wounded. In terms of equipment lost and damage to our facilities overseas, we have lost considerably more than $7 billion. It is not unreasonable to compare the Afghanistan withdrawal with what President Trump is now doing with Iran. BTW - Sanctions against Iran will start being lifted immediately after Iran and the US sign the Memorandum of Understanding.
The price of gas coming down is a plus with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding. Unfortunately, gas will not get as low as it was before the war until well after the mid-term elections, if at all. I do not see this cease fire for sixty days holding. Meanwhile inflation continues to go up. I do not expect the FED to drop their rate this month (announced today the rate remains the same and the outlook going forward is not good). The unemployment rate of recent college graduates is still higher than the national unemployment rate. It will take at least two months to have one hundred twenty five ships a day passing through the strait of Hormuz. All the mines Iran planted in the Strait will have to be removed or detonated under controlled circumstances.
I am concerned how President Trump will react when the Supreme Court rules against him this month on several fronts, including the 14th Amendment issue of birthright citizenship. That said, the Supreme Court will rule in his favor regarding his right to fire most federal employees throughout the bureaucracy.
I have talked with many state legislators who privately admit that even though Trump won in their states in 2024, the legislators are concerned. The Democrat running against Senator Collins from Maine had a Nazi tattoo and he is ahead in their race. Ohio is going to lose a Senate seat to the Democrats. North Carolina is another state that I expect the former governor there, a Democrat to win a Senate seat. There are two or three other states where Republican Senate incumbents are in trouble. Finally, there is Texas which this time really is a toss-up.
People who self-identify as Independents continue to rise and now are leaning heavily to the left. Trump won in 2024 by having about a forty-point advantage with Independents. Trump's Evangelical support is also coming down. Everyone around Trump is making money and the public knows it. Trump's family wealth has increased almost three billion dollars since he took office in January 2025.
I do not care about the reflective pool or the ballroom. They are distractions from an issue Trump clearly does not want to discuss which is Epstein. I also do not care about Trump's name on buildings or currency. What I care about is winning the war with Iran, so my children and grandchildren do not need to worry about a nuclear Iran. I also do not want to see Democrats taking back the Senate and the House. I can imagine Trump stepping down by the end of January, receiving a pardon from Vance, and the Democrats controlling our policy at home for two years after they take control of the House and/or Senate. In reality, the Democrats only need to take back the House to control appropriations.
I have supported entitlement reform for many years. That said, since the Trump administration did not adopt the solution, I provided to make sure people are who they say they are and also to verify citizenship, there will still be much fraud. The fact is our national debt is closing in on Forty-One trillion dollars. I am also going on the record opposing the Trump administration demanding voter rolls from states. Had the solution I provided been adopted we would not have to worry about non-citizens voting in federal elections. I remain very concerned about an attack on our soil. The Real ID Act has proven to be what I said, which is worthless despite the tens of billions spent implementing it.
Not sure who remembers the Executive Order that Trump signed in 2025, EO 14243 - Stopping Waste, Fraud, and Abuse by Eliminating Information Silos.
The following is the pertinent wording regarding state agencies and/or departments that accept federal grant money:"c) Immediately upon execution of this order, Agency Heads shall take all necessary steps, to the maximum extent consistent with law, to ensure the Federal Government has unfettered access to comprehensive data from all State programs that receive Federal funding, including, as appropriate, data generated by those programs but maintained in third-party databases.
About ten days ago the Department of Justice released their 'Model Cities' 2026 initiative. The following is the area state legislators need to be concerned about:
"Technology is central to the initiative. DoJ’s FY2026 materials show the program is designed in part to expand modern policing infrastructure, including AI systems, drones, body-worn cameras, license plate readers, forensic tools and integrated justice systems. Together, the technologies could allow participating agencies to expand video collection, automated vehicle tracking, forensic analysis, AI-assisted investigations and aerial surveillance capabilities."
To put it bluntly, the federal government regardless of which party control Congress or the White House will have what amounts to indirect unfettered access to state law enforcement and intelligence databases. Some may think this is good; however such thinking is very dangerous. Biometrics remain the foundation for the surveillance state both in the United States and around the world. I am not going to cover in this email the many instances already where AI has been used to hack/compromise databases. I will be covering the advances with both AI and Quantum computing in the book I am writing. For now, I will say the First Amendment is being eviscerated. Government is attempting to have god-like power and most people are doing little to nothing about it.
I continue to hear people say we are moving towards a Social Credit Score such as China has. What is happening in our country is worse. In China the people know if the government deems them a threat for any reason or if a person is not considered a good citizen, which can be defined many ways, but the point is, each person knows their Social Credit Score. In our country, there is no transparency. A person's name can appear on many different watch lists and have no idea they are on the watch list, or why they are on the watch list.
The only thing I am asking you to do is share the Constitutional Alliance website with the people you know and ask them to do the same. https://constitutionalalliance.org
Much Love and Many Blessings to everyone,
Mark Lerner, Spokesperson for Constitutional Alliance.
